Tis The Season!

It's 6am in the morning and I have slept for 1 hour, so please excuse this post if it makes no sense. I went out for black Friday and I did ok. The only thing I really wanted to get was the waffle iron from Walmart for $2.94. I didn't get that or anything else but jammies for the kids there. I was also looking for the xbox live subscription for Matt, but they were out of that too. I then went to Old Navy where I got shirts for Emily and Alex. I was going to go to AC Moore after that, but I couldn't find my 30% off everything coupon, so I'll wait until later. I went to Target with no specific goal in mind and I got lots there. After that I went to Wawa to get myself coffee and the kiddies donuts ****from the North Pole**** I love my little babies! I would say goodnight but my husband has to leave for work- which means I can't go to sleep until tonight....but it will all have been worth it Christmas morning!

*Elfy's note says- Good morning Emily, Alex, and Nicky
I brought you these donuts from the North Pole

Happy Halloween 2011

Our Halloween festivites started with Emily's Halloween Parade at school. I went in to help all the little kiddies get into costume. Then they did a parade all around the school! I forgot my camera, but I had someone take a couple pictures and I'll post them when I get them. After school, we went home, ate dinner and put our costumes on. Then we waited for Daddy to come home and we went trick-or-treating with Emily's best friend Callie in her court. Then we left and went trick-or-treating with our other friends Nathan and Owen.  Nicky gave up about 10 minutes into this and I had to carry him the rest of the way. After he ate 2 pieces of candy he fell asleep on me. The kids all had a good time and got lots and lots of candy. I know they will never be able to eat it all so I know they don't mind sharing with me! When we got home they all got to pick a piece of candy and watch one quick Halloween show and then it was time for bed. After they brushed their teeth, that is!

Pizza Night...

One night when Matt had off, we decided to let the kids make their own pizzas. Nicky wasn't having any part of it because he woke up from his nap cranky. But Emily and Alex helped make Nicky's. They had so much fun! After Emily went around and took everyone's pizza orders down, Alex and I went to Shoprite for all the ingredients. Once we got back, we got down to business. Matt and I made a white pizza with green peppers, oninons, and ricotta cheese and it was sooooo good. Even the kids turned out really good. We usually use don pepino sauce, but used ragu pizza sauce this time. I don't know if that's what made the difference, but all the pizzas were yummy.... I'll let the pictures speak for themselves....
I'm not sure why they are both crossing their eyes or why Alex is smiling like that, lol!

Build-a-bear Birthday...

This past Saturday, we were all invited to Build-a-Bear for Owen's 4th birthday party. Owen is Alex's best friend and Nathan is Emily's best friend, and Owen and Nathan are brothers- in case I haven't mentioned that already. Anyway, the party was alot of fun and the kids were great...Emily made a gray cat, Alex made a Phillie Phanatac, and Nicky made a purple Wizards of Waverly Place bear...he picked it out all by himself and there was no getting him to put it back! After build a bear, we went to Chick-fil-A in the food court. We had happy meals and cupcakes. The only difficult part of the evening didn't even have anything to do with the kids....It was stupidity on my part for not bringing my stroller in. Picture me by myself, with all 3 kids, no stroller, 3 build a bear boxes, coats, and Nicky running to every ride on car that he could see, oh-i almost forgot- Alex took some Sonic slippers off a vendors cart. I'm sure you all know how many teenagers are at the mall on a Friday night. Need I say more? 2 very sore arms later, we made it to the van and headed home. Since it was Friday and the kids needed to unwind, I let them stay up and cuddle with me on the couch until 9pm watching Caillou. It was a very busy day but also alot of fun! Emily has been to build a bear once before with her Aunt TiTi, but it was me and the boys first time. I highly suggest if you haven't been there before- go soon! It was very cute and fun....

Months away...

I am already thinking about Nicky's 3rd birthday/Matt's 30th birthday!!! Since they are the 19th and 20th of July, it doesn't make sense/it isn't fair to everyone to have 2 seperate parties. So...Nicky and Daddy will be sharing the spotlight again! But lucky for them, I think I picked the perfect theme- I'm surprised it's not one we've done already considering we've been having baseball games for Matt's birthday for the past 4 years... I know I'm getting ahead of myself and that it seems so far away, but I'm trying not to wait until the very last minute like usual! I'll leave you with this....

Why you shouldn't...

attempt to make cookies when your 2 1/2 year old son is sick and is freaking out because he just wants to be held.....I started to make the cookies before he woke up from his nap... Well, he woke up and still had a fever and he was not happy. I was already half way through making the cookies so I couldn't stop. I tried to involve him, but he wanted no part of it. So I set him on the ground and tried to move as quickly as possible. I was very proud of myself for getting the cookies in the oven in a timely manner....However, in trying to move so fast, I forgot to add the baking soda and salt. Yes- I did. It seems like those tiny teaspoons of white stuff actually are pretty important!!! The cookies looked and tasted disgusting and didn't even resemble chocolate chip cookies in the least... Matt has an interview tomorrow morning, but then he is off for the rest of the day, so maybe we'll try again then...

off to watch jersey shore!

Best Friends and Future Spouses...

Emily, Nathan, Owen, and Alex

Yes, I said future spouses. Emily and Nathan believe they are already married and Owen says he wants to marry Alex...In their defense- they think being married is being best friends and getting to play with each other all the time!!!

Thomas Live

This past Saturday, Matt, Emily, Alex and I went to see Thomas Live: Thomas Saves The Day, while Nicky stayed behind with Mom-Mom R. (He had fun too--he got to visit with Aunt TT and they went all went to Dairy Queen for dinner). Our show started at 5pm and it was 90 minutes long. We got there a little early so we got a snack and a drink before the show started. (We also made sure that we went potty before we took our seats!) The show went soooo smoothly... All the kids around us were very well behaved and weren't too much of a distraction. The show was very cute and the kids seemed to really enjoy it. They were so good and we had such a fun time with them. It was nice to see Alex's face light up with excitement to see his favortite engine in real life. After the show we went straigtht to Friendly's. Again, Emily and Alex were sooo good! They ate their dinners and then they patiently waited for some ice cream of course. They both had candy shoppe sundaes. After dinner we went right home where little Nicky bear was cuddled up with Mom-Mom R on the couch watching Caillou. I'm so glad we got to take Alex to see Thomas while he still likes him and I can't wait until we take all 3 of them to A Day Out With Thomas this summer or fall.... I'll leave you with some pictures...some not as good as others...
cotton candy...yum!

Today...

Barnes and Noble book fair for Emily's school + alot of people + a cranky 2 year old that didn't nap + a thomas train table that my boys didn't want to leave = one crazy mommy.

Today was Emily's first day back at school after 5 days, so things were a little crazy this morning. After I got Emily on the bus, I took the boys to Target and walked around for a little while. We got Toy Story bubble bath and 6 punch balloons....the kids love them. Then we went to AC Moore because I wanted to make a shirt for Emily to wear to school tomorrow, because it's her 100th day and in kindergarten they make a big deal out of it. After I got all necessary items, the boys wanted to go to Pet Smart next door. After that we came home and then it was time to get Em off the bus. After school, Emily went to her friends' Callies house all afternoon. Alex had his friend Owen over from 12-3. Then Alex and Nicky(so I thought) took a nap. I heard noise in the bedroom and went in to find Nicky naked with carpet powder all over his room. I forgot to take it out earlier. MISTAKE. He had also peed on his floor and spilled some water on the powder which had turned into a rock on the carpet and was a pain to get out. Did I forget to mention all the wipes he had torn to little tiny pieces all over, EVERYWHERE? Then he came downstairs and figured out how to get past the parental control lock on the tv and ordered a movie called Black Death....The same movie he already ordered here(twice, hence the need for the aforementioned parental lock), at mom-mom's, and at Nathan's......He is one smart cookie..the next Bill Gates! Then I went to Barnes and noble which was absolute chaos.......Now I'm home and my house is a mess, so I should go start cleaning it. However, it could always wait til tomorrow, right? Please no unannounced visits tonight or tomorrow, ok? I'll try to get a picture of Emily in her shirt tomorrow and post it when I can!

p.s- I should mention that Alex was not sleeping in his room, but in mine while Nicky was wreaking havoc in there and once I walked in and saw the carpet powder everywhere, I took him out and did not leave him in there to breathe it in!

WE'RE STILL HERE...

I haven't posted because things have been so crazy this week. On Monday, Nicky started getting sick. By Wednesday, he was very sick but I couldn't get him in to see the doctor until Thursday morning. He kept holding his ears saying hurt, hurt. Poor little thing. Sure enough, the doctor said he had 2 very badly, infected, blistering ears! His upper eyelids were pretty swollen, which dr said could have been motrin allergy (which I didn't give him) or that a virus may be affecting his kidneys. She prescribed amoxicillin and told me to give him benadryl twice a day and if his eyes weren't better by Saturday to call back. He woke up from his nap and his eyes looked better and he started acting normal again.....However- he stopped peeing, so I called dr back. She said as long as he pees once in 8 hours, (even though not normal for him), that he is fine. And he did, so I assume he's ok. Well, I had to call the doctor back tonight, but not for Nicky.......for Emily! All of a sudden she said her throat hurt very badly and she didn't look very well. I took her temp and it was 100. 15 min later I took it again, and it was 102. Doctor said it sounds like strep given the high fever and no cold/cough. She said she may have upset stomach and that she needs to be seen, but that I can wait until tomorrow and go to urgent care at Virtua. Supposedly, it's the same as your copay for the doctor. They open at 9am and that's what time I plan on getting there!!! On a lighter note- we had 2 very nice sunny days on Thursday and Friday and we spent as much time out there as we could!!! Thursday while Nicky napped for 4 hours after going to the dr Emily and Alex had some friends over and they ate lunch outside and then played ALL.DAY.LONG!!! On Friday, it looked like rain in the morning, so Emily went with her friend Callie to the Camden aquarium and then chick-fil-a for lunch. She had so much fun. So that's why I haven't posted. This is the first time I've sat in what feels like days!!! So, wish us luck tomorrow and say a little prayer for Emily and Nicky to feel better really soon. Nothing breaks my heart more than a sick, sad little kid! Ok, off to clean up the mess that was made today and maybe I'll try to dry my hair before a sick someone, (or someones), wake up and needs me...

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Today was Grandparent's Tea Day at Emily's school. I went to help set up this morning and mom-mom R met Emily and I there around 10:30am. Emily was chosen to be on the school tv this morning before the party started, with 4 other kids so they could read the Pledge of Allegiance, the weather, and to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. They all had heart sunglasses on and they looked adorable!!! The party went well and everyone seemed to have a good time. The kids all read short letters they wrote to their grandparents and then we all sat around and had oreos and iced tea!!! I love kindergarten and enjoy every minute of getting to be there for Emily. Mom-mom took Emily home and they went to get happy meals for lunch. They brought some home for the boys and shortly after Nicky finished his, he started getting sick. I knew he wasn't feeling that well since last night. After mom-mom and pop-pop left, I took the kids outside to play for awhile. Then we came in and put Nicky to bed and enjoyed the rest of our Valentine's Day. I love my kiddies more than anything. They mean the world to me and I would do any and everything for them. I am so thankful they are mine. They really are the sweetest, cutest, most well-behaved kids I've ever met...I'm also thankful for my wonderful husband who helped give me our 3 wonderful babies. He also means the world to me and I love him with all my heart. He is the best husband and father!!! Unfortunately, we were so busy today and I didn't take any pictures of the kids in their Valentine's clothes...I hope everyone got to spend today with someone they love.......I am sooooo lucky!!!!!  :)
