FALLING BEHIND...

Again....I am falling behind on blogging. I've been so busy with the kids. On July 20th, Nicky's actual birthday- mom-mom was kind enough to help me take the kids to Storybook Land. We had so much fun!!! We started on the opposite side of where we usually start with Daddy, so that we could get to the little splash park first, because it was sooo hot! Emily and mom-mom rode the roller coaster twice!!! We made it through the whole park and then the kids wanted to stop for some french fries......Then we headed through the gift shop and the kids each picked something. Thanks for coming with us mom-mom!!! On the way home, I was going to stop at an ice cream shop, but my neighbor said she would just make Nicky a cake so we could all sing happy birthday. She ended up getting adorable ocean cupcakes.....they were yummy. I do have pictures of him and his cupcakes, but they're on my neighbor's camera. I promise to get them soon!!! I would leave you with some old pictures, but unfortunately, my computer is not letting me open the needed folder. More posts/pictures to come soon---I'm still cleaning the aftermath of Nick/Matt's party yesterday...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY...

Happy 29th birthday to the best man in the whole entire world!!! I feel lucky to have had you in my life for the past 9 years. You are everything a father, husband, son and friend can be and more. The kids and I love you so much. Sorry you had to work today, but we're all excited to celebrate you and Nicky's birthdays this weekend. Thank you for being the person that you are. We love you daddy.

In other birthday news, I just put Nicky to bed a one year old and he's going to wake up a 2 year old!!! I must admit, I am currently feeling a little sad. I already told my internal clock to wake me up at 3:50am so I can go upstairs and kiss his little face a million times!!! I may not be able to post tomorrow because me and mom-mom are taking the little ones to storybook land for Nicky's actual birthday. Happy birthday to my biggest and littlest boys!!!

CATCHING UP...

A couple of weeks ago the kids and I slept a mom-mom and pop-pop's house and tried out the beach for the first time this summer. Unfortunately, it wasn't hot enough and the sun was hiding behind the clouds. We only stayed for about an hour and then we bribed the kids off the beach by going to the playground, which was only a tiny walk away.......

FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND

Fourth of July weekend was fun, but not as fun as it should have, been, because Matt had to work....:(  Saturday, the kids and I spent the day at my neighbors house swimming and barbecuing. That night, Emily and I sat outside and were able to see the township's fireworks. Then, when our neighbors got back from the fireworks, Emily went over for a roasted marshmallow!!! Sunday was the day we were going to the beach to watch the fireworks in Margate. I let Nicky take his regular naps at home that day so that he would be awake and not cranky for the fireworks that night....and it's a good thing I did because it took FOREVER for them to start. Unfortunately, we missed the days' activities on the beach, but such is life with little ones. I know if Nicky didn't nap properly that day he would have been a mess for the fireworks and I didn't want that since I knew he would enjoy them. And he sure did. He L.O.V.E.D them. Emily loved them as well. Alex's only complaint was that they were too loud and they were since we were so close to where they were being shot off. Overall, the kids did wonderfully and had a good time. And guess what? They passed out once we got back to mom-mom and pop-pop's....even with all the commotion and noise going on!!! The next day we all hung out with daddy until about 1pm. Then, mom-mom, pop-pop, me, Emily, Alex, and Nicky all went to the beach where we found Aunt Barbara, Brian, and his girlfriend Ashley. Emily enjoyed looking for sand crabs with Aunt Barbara and going out into the big waves with Brian and Ashley. She had so much fun with them and they were so nice to play with her the whole time!!! Alex and Nicky loved being where the water met the sand and they could sit and dig. Nicky also enjoyed face-diving into the sand and getting it into every little crevice on his body! After a few hours, we headed home and pop-pop turned on the sprinklers so we could rinse all the sand off. Then, I gave mom-mom the pleasure of scrubbing down 3 sandy sticky kids in the tub! lol. We started heading for home around 7pm. We had such a fun weekend, but wish daddy didn't have work!!! Next year I think I'll have him request 4th of July off. It's my favorite. Time for pictures....thanks Aunt Jill for sending us some extras!

Thanks for everyone's help!!!

PICS YOU MAY HAVE MISSED:BABY NICKY:PART 2

Since this blog is to capture memories for the kids, I am still playing catch up. Like I said before, my posts are tremendously out of order! I have about 5 years of catching up to do!!! So.......this post is Nicky's birth story and more baby pictures of him.....ENJOY!!!

                                              BIRTH STORY
It all started on July 19th, 2008, Daddy's birthday. I woke up that morning not feeling too good. Unfortunately for me, it was the day of Daddy's annual birthday baseball game. I told him I wasn't feeling good but that he should go anyway. I tried to rest- whatever that means when you have a 3 year old and an 18month old running around!!! I had to try my best though, because Matt, Geno and I were going to a late imax showing of The Dark Knight in Atlantic City. I started having contractions after about 10 minutes into the movie. They were pretty irregular so we ended up sitting through the whole movie.....and believe me when I tell you----it was a very looongggg movie!!! I remember on the drive home, (which was about 12am), yelling at Matt to stop hitting bumps or turning. It was making me have more contractions. This was the most uncomfortable hour and a half ever!!! Anyway, we got home and sent Uncle Andrew and Aunt Tracy home...they were sitting here while Em and Alex slept. Matt asked if I thought they should stay, but we had promised Emily we would take her to Storybook Land the next day, so I wasn't planning on going to the hospital. I don't know what I was thinking because as soon as they left I was in UNBEARABLE pain!!! I finally decided it was time to go to the hospital. Luckily, it's right down the street, because I had to drive myself. Looking back I really should have had an ambulance come. I had to wait in between contractions before I got out of the car to walk in the hospital. So, I waddled along to the entrance, but guess what?? It was closed. I had to get back in the car, wait for contraction, drive to the other side, wait  for contraction, enter hospital. I got in and there was another pregnant lady there all calm who had just started contracting. But----they took her first!!! I was the one in pain holding onto the walls and what not! They also never offered me a wheelchair even though I was about to collapse on the floor, lol. After the longest walk ever, I finally made it to labor and delivery where I began to beg for an epidural. The nurse did a check and I was already 8cm dilated and fully effaced. I was not expecting that. They said the dr would be in soon to break my water. After what seemed like forever, he finally came in and broke said water. After pushing for 5 min I seriously felt like I could not go on! I don't know if any of you have ever given birth naturally, but I assure you- IT IS NOT THE WAY TO GO!!! About 10 min later the cutest little guy made his entrance into the world at 3:50am. It was just me, the doctor, and the nurse in the room. I had no family and no epidural!!! I tried calling Daddy a million times to tell him, but he was sleeping!!!! I didn't get to talk to him until 6am!!! I didn't want to wake anyone else up so I sat wide awake anxiously waiting to tell everyone. Daddy finally got to meet his 3rd baby around 9am. Emily and Alex got to meet their baby brother later that day. Hope you enjoyed the story. I tried not to get too graphic, but sorry if I did. Oh and by the way....we did end up taking the kids to Storybook Land that weekend when Nicky was only 4 days old!!! I don't like to break promises to my babies. Well, that about wraps it up. If you were brave enough to get through that excruciatingly long post, you may now enjoy some cute pictures!!!
