Pizza Night...

One night when Matt had off, we decided to let the kids make their own pizzas. Nicky wasn't having any part of it because he woke up from his nap cranky. But Emily and Alex helped make Nicky's. They had so much fun! After Emily went around and took everyone's pizza orders down, Alex and I went to Shoprite for all the ingredients. Once we got back, we got down to business. Matt and I made a white pizza with green peppers, oninons, and ricotta cheese and it was sooooo good. Even the kids turned out really good. We usually use don pepino sauce, but used ragu pizza sauce this time. I don't know if that's what made the difference, but all the pizzas were yummy.... I'll let the pictures speak for themselves....
I'm not sure why they are both crossing their eyes or why Alex is smiling like that, lol!

Build-a-bear Birthday...

This past Saturday, we were all invited to Build-a-Bear for Owen's 4th birthday party. Owen is Alex's best friend and Nathan is Emily's best friend, and Owen and Nathan are brothers- in case I haven't mentioned that already. Anyway, the party was alot of fun and the kids were great...Emily made a gray cat, Alex made a Phillie Phanatac, and Nicky made a purple Wizards of Waverly Place bear...he picked it out all by himself and there was no getting him to put it back! After build a bear, we went to Chick-fil-A in the food court. We had happy meals and cupcakes. The only difficult part of the evening didn't even have anything to do with the kids....It was stupidity on my part for not bringing my stroller in. Picture me by myself, with all 3 kids, no stroller, 3 build a bear boxes, coats, and Nicky running to every ride on car that he could see, oh-i almost forgot- Alex took some Sonic slippers off a vendors cart. I'm sure you all know how many teenagers are at the mall on a Friday night. Need I say more? 2 very sore arms later, we made it to the van and headed home. Since it was Friday and the kids needed to unwind, I let them stay up and cuddle with me on the couch until 9pm watching Caillou. It was a very busy day but also alot of fun! Emily has been to build a bear once before with her Aunt TiTi, but it was me and the boys first time. I highly suggest if you haven't been there before- go soon! It was very cute and fun....

Months away...

I am already thinking about Nicky's 3rd birthday/Matt's 30th birthday!!! Since they are the 19th and 20th of July, it doesn't make sense/it isn't fair to everyone to have 2 seperate parties. So...Nicky and Daddy will be sharing the spotlight again! But lucky for them, I think I picked the perfect theme- I'm surprised it's not one we've done already considering we've been having baseball games for Matt's birthday for the past 4 years... I know I'm getting ahead of myself and that it seems so far away, but I'm trying not to wait until the very last minute like usual! I'll leave you with this....

Why you shouldn't...

attempt to make cookies when your 2 1/2 year old son is sick and is freaking out because he just wants to be held.....I started to make the cookies before he woke up from his nap... Well, he woke up and still had a fever and he was not happy. I was already half way through making the cookies so I couldn't stop. I tried to involve him, but he wanted no part of it. So I set him on the ground and tried to move as quickly as possible. I was very proud of myself for getting the cookies in the oven in a timely manner....However, in trying to move so fast, I forgot to add the baking soda and salt. Yes- I did. It seems like those tiny teaspoons of white stuff actually are pretty important!!! The cookies looked and tasted disgusting and didn't even resemble chocolate chip cookies in the least... Matt has an interview tomorrow morning, but then he is off for the rest of the day, so maybe we'll try again then...

off to watch jersey shore!

Best Friends and Future Spouses...

Emily, Nathan, Owen, and Alex

Yes, I said future spouses. Emily and Nathan believe they are already married and Owen says he wants to marry Alex...In their defense- they think being married is being best friends and getting to play with each other all the time!!!

Thomas Live

This past Saturday, Matt, Emily, Alex and I went to see Thomas Live: Thomas Saves The Day, while Nicky stayed behind with Mom-Mom R. (He had fun too--he got to visit with Aunt TT and they went all went to Dairy Queen for dinner). Our show started at 5pm and it was 90 minutes long. We got there a little early so we got a snack and a drink before the show started. (We also made sure that we went potty before we took our seats!) The show went soooo smoothly... All the kids around us were very well behaved and weren't too much of a distraction. The show was very cute and the kids seemed to really enjoy it. They were so good and we had such a fun time with them. It was nice to see Alex's face light up with excitement to see his favortite engine in real life. After the show we went straigtht to Friendly's. Again, Emily and Alex were sooo good! They ate their dinners and then they patiently waited for some ice cream of course. They both had candy shoppe sundaes. After dinner we went right home where little Nicky bear was cuddled up with Mom-Mom R on the couch watching Caillou. I'm so glad we got to take Alex to see Thomas while he still likes him and I can't wait until we take all 3 of them to A Day Out With Thomas this summer or fall.... I'll leave you with some pictures...some not as good as others...
